Woolies Has Brought Back Purchasing Limits on Toilet Rolls and Painkillers Due To Supply Chain Issues

Last week, Coles and Woolworths warned customers to expect at least a month of food shortages as the supermarkets struggled to replenish stock amid rising Covid-19 cases and subsequent staff shortages.

Today, Woolworths has reinstated a limit of two packs per customer on toilet rolls and analgesic items (painkillers) as a precautionary measure.

According to a statement by Woolworths, “the limits will ensure more customers have fair access to toilet paper and analgesics”.

In Western Australia, customers will be limited to buying two packs of mince, sausages and chicken per trip after Woolies noticed signs of panic purchasing in the state.

“We understand this is an anxious time for our customers across the country but we will remain open and operational as an essential service,” said Woolworths director of stores Jeanette Fenske.

“We will continue to closely monitor product availability across our stores, with stock continuing to be sent to stores daily. Customers will notice some gaps on shelves but we’re doing all that we can to meet demand.”
