Maiden Procurement Awards’ Nominees Named

Nominees for the maiden edition of the Ghana Procurement and Supply Chain Awards slated for 7 September, this year in Accra have been named.
The event will witness the naming of Ghana’s top 20 procurement & supply chain power leaders at the gala night.
Akin Naphtal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Instinct Wave, organisers of the event, said all nominees are required to submit entries and present reasons why they should be considered as winners for the various categories for which they have been nominated.
He also said the deadline for submissions has been extended to July 31st while also all submissions are to be made to www.ghpscawards.com.
The maiden edition is expected to enjoy support from the Ghana Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Ghana Institute of Procurement & Supply (GIPS), Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) and Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management (CISCM).
“We would like to change this mindset by celebrating, rewarding exceptional talents, teams and organizations that have demonstrated excellence in delivering best practice and innovation in the procurement and supply chain sector in Ghana.
“Over the years, procurement and supply chain practitioners have evolved by incorporating technology into their work, while maintaining best practices that enable them to improve spend management, streamline purchasing and achieve higher margins. The Procurement and Supply Chain Manager manages the entire process in the planning of procurement and supply chain activities, inventory control, logistics and distribution, while ensuring effective functioning processes to avoid costly delays and lost opportunities,” he explained.
Mr. Naphtal said the time has come to celebrate professional procurement and supply chain practitioners for their efforts.
“For this reason, we are taking the bold step to celebrate and honour procurement and supply chain practitioners who have demonstrated excellence in delivering best practice and innovation in the profession,” he added.
The categories include Excellence in Procurement & Supply Chain – Telecom/IT; Excellence in Procurement & Supply Chain – Retail; Excellence in Procurement & Supply Chain – Consumer Goods; Excellence in Procurement & Supply Chain – Banking; Excellence in Procurement & Supply Chain – Healthcare /Pharmaceutical; and Excellence in Procurement & Supply Chain – Automobile, among others.
