Bjorn Vang Jensen, a former vice president at liner consultancy Sea-Intelligence has recently taken over as the Executive Director, of Global Transport at Cummins Inc. where he would be looking after building a global logistics approach, focused on the sea, air, and rail transport.
A leading industry figure in the field of global logistics and supply chain management, Jensen was formerly the VP of Advisory Services – Global Supply Chain at Sea-Intelligence. He has also worked with the likes of Maersk and was Head of Global Logistics at Electrolux in the past. Jensen will be helming the air and sea freight verticals in the US industry group.
From the ocean carrier perspective, from the 3PL perspective, and from the perspective of a manufacturing brand with a global footprint, Bjorn has witnessed the rise of globalization and the strides made by the transportation sector for three decades.
Taking to social media regarding the development on Monday, Jensen wrote about his new innings and said, “I will soon start in a new role as Executive Director – International Transportation, for Cummins, Inc. In the beginning of February, I will relocate to Dubai. Consulting has provided me with tons of valuable lessons, and for those, I am indebted to the many clients who had faith in our ability to help them navigate the mess of the last two and a half years. But at heart, I am a BCO, and I look very much forward to working full-time in that capacity again. I am grateful for the opportunity, and I will approach it humbly. Cummins is a terrific, 103-year-old company, combining cutting-edge products with strong, progressive company values, and I can’t wait to work even closer with all the people I’ve already met, and those I’m about to.”
