Fargo School Board OK’s district’s $7.3 million purchase of corporate offices for administrative use | The Mighty 790 KFGO
FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – The Fargo School board has approved the district’s purchase of the the RD Offutt corporate offices for $7.3 million.
The school district made the offer earlier this month and Superintendent Rupak Gandhi says the offer has been verbally accepted by the company. The Offutt building at 700 7th Street South will be the future location for the school district administrative offices which the district has outgrown.
As part of the deal, the current district offices on 4th Street North will be sold and that money used to offset the cost of the RD Offutt building purchase.
School district Business Manager Jackie Gapp says the funds for the RD Offutt purchase will come from the district’s building fund. She says the sale should be closed by mid-winter.
R.D. Offutt plans to move its offices to the new Block 9 Tower on Broadway once construction is complete. Offutt is a partner in construction of the multi-million dollar building.
